The Eaters at the EUC

The EUC on campus is where many students and faculty alike go to eat and relax. It was the perfect place to catch my next victims to draw.

...The people

Our instructor, Jake, enthusiastically announces to the class that we are going to start drawing the human figure and people in general. I was not too happy. I do not feel I'm a very strong artist and the idea of drawing people was scary. But i tried and these were my first attempts.

Edgar's Lamp Post .after.

This is the scene that I captured after returning to the parking deck on Edgar Street. Instead of focusing on the lamp post and it's detail, it just proved as a frame for the background. I believe I like this one better just because it looks more simple and takes in the whole scene instead of one single focus. I really enjoy the simplicity of objects and scenes.

This is the Edgar Street lamp post from the El Carreton parking deck. In this drawing, I attempted to focus on the detail on the lamp post and not much else. It turned out okay...

A look from the ground...

I don't really like this one... I was super frustrated with myself that day and this was the last of the campus walk series. I don't think anything in this looks right except the pillars on the top of the building.

The School of Education

We went walking around campus for class the other day and stopped in certain places to draw the area around us. This is our first of the series.

Jake's Bike

So this was supposed to be a negative space drawing but... I missed that! I just did a contour! I really like it though. It's pretty cool how drawings come together and a whole bunch of lines actually make something!

The Negative Chair

Yes, I understand there are two different chairs but... I liked them and they ended up looking the most cool, I guess you could say. The negative space thing is actually pretty fun and it's a different way to look at things! I found it interesting!

Junk and Boxes?

This negative space sketch is kind of crazy, I know, but there were all these boxes and such stacked up in front of my garage this weekend and this is what the negative space ended up looking like!

The Partial Stool

I really liked this one because it actually turned out to look like something! A few of my other negative space sketches you have a little bit harder of a time deciphering what they are... but hey! they still look pretty neat!
